general treatments

The base of a healthy smile.

Small problems are best solved while they are small. Regular check-ups and care extend the life of both your natural teeth and any restorations.

At the examination your teeth, gums and existing fillings and crowns are checked, with imaging if needed. Findings and options are shared with you.

Decay is treated with fillings, and decay that has reached the nerve with root canal treatment. Scaling protects your gums, and whitening lightens tooth colour. Where a tooth cannot be saved, the extraction and the replacement are planned together.

Who is it for?

  • People due a six-monthly check-up

questions

What you may be wondering.

How often should I have a check-up?

Every six months is the general advice. People with gum problems or many restorations may be advised to come more often.

Does scaling damage teeth?

No. It removes deposits from the tooth surface and does not harm enamel. Short-lived sensitivity afterwards is possible.

Is whitening suitable for everyone?

Decay and gum problems are treated first. Fillings and crowns do not change colour with whitening, which is taken into account in planning.
